The great filter cometh. 2023 Records:
– Record-high global temperature.
– Record-high greenhouse gas concentrations.
– Record-high ocean heat and global sea levels.
– Record-high total land area in extreme drought

2023 was the warmest year since records began in the mid-to-late 1800s, surpassing the previous record in 2016. All seven major global temperature datasets used for analysis in the report agree that the last nine years (2015–2023) were the nine warmest on record.

Humans asking their leaders for clean air, clean water, clean soil, and clean food seems to be too much for these pretend politicians. They let us down. Time to play hardball.

Politicians are the gatekeepers of course, but the blame is on the industries producing the pollution (energy, manufacturing, shipping). Consumer culture and unhinged corporate greed and their unsustainable “growth” model is the driving factor. We need fundamental change to our cultural economic values. Sustainability over profitability. Shareholders are destroying us and business is buying our politicians. We need a new political movement in the U.S. We need a real anti-corporate environmental workers party that rejects corporate consumer culture. I for one support the Democratic Socialists. I am not convinced it can happen, but we have to try, and also prepare for the worst. Humans may be in our final stage.
