Juniper brought me bacon in bed. She loves bacon and has it for breakfast most mornings. She has been bringing me pieces of bacon in bed for a couple weeks now. It’s cute.
I dropped Junie off at school this morning and ended up talking with Carol for about 20 minutes, which was nice because I feel like I don’t talk with people much these days. I dropped Atticus at school then stopped by the Cannon Mine for a large mocha and an almond croissant.
Nathan and I met at 9am as planned. It is the first day of my month-long hiatus, and the first of Nathans undetermined work-break. I have dedicated Tuesday through Friday, 9am to noon as music time with Nathan.
We wrapped at noon and ate leftover Bratwurst, then Nathan went back out to the studio to record guitar for the piece we were working on. I expect he will be out there a lot the next few weeks.
I drove Juniper to school then came back home got Atticus and took him to school. I’ve been driving them separately because it just cuts down on the bickering and both kids get to ride alone with Dad to school.
Annie finished here workout then we went to Boulder to take Annies old Singer sewing machine to the repair shop. We bummed around Time Warp Comics for a bit, then we went to Trader Joes to buy snacks where we ran in to Joan.
We went back home and watched the movie Hereditary. Annie got it from the library a week or two ago, but we could never watch it because we never found time. Stupid. We ended up renting it on Amazon. I folded clothes while we watched the movie. Hereditary was a very good horror/suspense/thriller.
We have been out of a bathroom sink for two days now because a pipe broke. I’ve never seen a mettle pipe completely rip, but that is what happened. Mike is nice enough to come help fix it while I am at work, otherwise it would probably be an all-week job considering nothing in our house was constructed correctly. Everything in our house seems to have piece-mailed together. Whenever a minor issue comes up, it seems like 4 or 5 more follow because of the inept way it was done before.
I tried to push out the harvesting of this seasons marijuana plants as long as possible. I felt that I harvested too early last year, but what do I really know. The forecast predicts freezing temps this week so I made the decision to just harvest.
Instead of cutting the plants out of the pot and then chopping them into branches before trimming, I did all the pulling and trimming while the plant was still in the soil. It may be a good method, for small sized pants. I could have walked away at any time during harvest (if I had to) and I didn’t need to prepare or clean up anything. It also saved space in the hanger as I could just hang up the two whole plants, rather than a bunch of smaller branches.
The first jewel came last night while looking for drum equipment on Amazon. I went to read the reviews for the Remo Falam Slam Pad Kevlar Bass Drum Patch (2 Pack), and the top review takes the cake:
I placed these over my nipples as two bulletproof shields. Adhesive was strong, even through my panicked nipple sweat. Some backstory: my county has been plagued by “The Nipple Shooter,” whose perversion you can likely guess from context. However, upon encountering the fiend, my nipples remained unscathed. 10/10 would recommend for nipple-based assailants.
And this snippet from a New York Times story about the fracking controversy in Colorado:
Text from the article:
The people that oppose this industry, they treat us as if we’re really evil,” said Cody Doane, 45, a service specialist who stood with his twins, Everleigh Halli and Adler Burton — named for the company that had given their family everything: Halliburton.
