Some gun regulation would definitely help, but the problem with guns in America is fear. Everyone is so afraid of everything, afraid of the government, afraid of each other, afraid of foreigners.

There are many contributing factors but those who capitalize on this fear like gun companies who market directly to insecure young men, and the social and media networks that capitalize on fear are not helping at all.

America has forgotten how to raise brave people.

Homicide rates even when high, are relatively low in the US as compared to other countries. Statistically, poverty is the number-one indicator of mortality, not what kind of heat you pack. Research studies have shown you are about twice as likely to die from a gun if you own a gun, and that owning a gun does not decrease your risk of being the target of a crime.

What owning a gun does do, is put more guns on the market and make it more likely a gun will be stolen and used illegally by someone else.

Guns are about control through violence. Violence is about abandoning literally every other possible way to solve the problem. Bringing a gun to a problem means you have already chosen violence.
