I took off in the morning with Nathan and headed to Denver to meet-up with the Dots. Nathan got a stupidly huge Cadillac suburban-style thing so he could get all the guys from the airport but the airport lost most of their luggage, anyway… It was cool. Edward and Phil were staying at this nice old victorian stone house near Capital Hill owned by a guy who was a great oil painter, some friend of Randall’s. He was leaving as we got there and I can’t remember his name.

Nathan and I took Phil and Edward to eat brunch at Ophelia’s and check out the stage. Phil and I talked about all sorts of things including how he tweaks tracks, which was really interesting. We talked about all sorts of stuff. Erick and Joep met up with us and we all ate and talked.

Me and The Legendary Pink Dots (Edward Ka-Spel and Phill Knight) at Ophelias for brunch.

Erick and Joep went off to try and get the luggage back at the airport. Nathan and I went back to the house and helped cut and glue packaging for a bunch of hand-made copies of Code Noire for the tour.

It was really nice to finally get to hang out with The Dots. I mean, I’ve met them before of course, and hung out for small amounts of time, but this was like a real hang session, food and packaging. Both Phil and Edward are some of the nicest people, totally humble and they seemed genuinely happy to have me and Nathan around.

It’s still a bit weird to think we are going to be opening for them on Halloween, but honestly, life is seeming less strange these days, the more strange it becomes.
