The New Rat
Juniper just brought home a new male rat named Hatter from the Humane Society.
We went to breakfast this morning at Foolish Craigs, which surprisingly sucked. We have not been there in a while and the food was not how we remembered it. It was dry and tasteless. It was weird. Maybe that’s how things taste in Boulder now, or maybe the we just caught them on an off day.
Anyway. It was decided Juniper probably needs a mouse or some other larger pet. Early this morning Annie mentioned to Juniper that we could probably get a mouse at the pet store. I mentioned I had rats and when I was young and Juniper became fixated on the idea. And not just on getting a rat, but getting today, right now. All through breakfast and afterwords, as we walked around Pearl street, Juniper could hardly stand the idea of waiting. It was kinda cute.
I haven’t asked yet, maybe the pet store had no rats, because they ended up at the Humane Society to get Hatter.
