My latest bookbinding project: microbooks! They take the same amount of time as regular-size books to make but they might be more fun!

I’ve started to case-in my sewn bookblocks; still working out the kinks but I have a few that turned out really well. I’ve cased about 8 books now. I have to get the glued blocks trimmed at the local print shop because I don’t own a guillotine. I’m working on some books with actual content now.

My art. Handmade Drood pins available now.

Hand-cast with metallic resin using a silicone mold made from a sculpted clay original. Each pin was cast, sanded and assembled by Daniel Watts for The Drood. Measuring a little over an inch and a half in diameter with a strong latching broach-style pin. Limited to 20 numbered pieces, of which currently only 10 will be sold online, with the other 10 only available at live shows.

My first casting project! I sculpted a Drood coin from Alien Clay and then made a silicone mold of it. I cold-casted a few using plastic resin and aluminum powder to get the metallic-like look.

Coins cold-casted with Smooth-On 300 and aluminum powder.
