My takeaways from this presidential election:

1) I’m disappointed but not surprised.
2) I’m glad I live in Colorado.
3) The majority of Americans really are as dumb as they look and asked for what they will get.
4) I blame BOTH parties for where we are today.

Fear-stressing is not the answer. America has always sucked, it just sucks worse now (but arguably not as bad as it has been in the past). Anything can happen between now and forever and there are a lot of people who don’t like what is going on. We just have to deal with what we can as it arises and support our local communities. Part of peoples disillusionment is from believing the story that America is better than this. Our history proves otherwise.

More ranting:

It is time to support actual change. There is no liberal, workers or peoples party in two-party America. The only real difference between the parties is their social policies (which are important, but not to everyone). The Dems have been pushing our national politics to the right for decades, allowing for an even more extremist right to emerge. The problem is that people are suffering. No money, no homes, no healthcare, no prospects. Both parties are corporate imperialists who are funneling all of Americans paychecks, pensions, and savings to the top 1% who own the corporate interests. The Dems keep touting that “the economy is doing great”, and technically it is, but only if you are in the top 1% who own over half of America’s resources. Corporate manufacturing and media is owned by billionaires who pay both parties. Both parties are destroying the environment, both parties support banks uber alles, corporate welfare and the military industrial complex and give hundreds of billions to corporations to blow up and then re-build other countries, and leave only a pittance for us and our own infrastructure. Regular non-political people vote for strong-arms (even if they are immoral criminals) who can force change in the hopes that their livelihoods will improve. And so here we are.

It’s time to abandon this two-party hoax and support a real people’s and workers movement in America. I’m done supporting anyone from the two parties not endorsed by the Greens or DSA. It can’t get any worse. Both parties are just corporatist imperialists and cannot be trusted with our best interests.

Bernie Would Have Won

The Democratic smothering of the Bernie coalition reaped its reward today, writes Krystal Ball.

The Billionaire class are chicken-shits and would rather protect themselves and steal from you than serve the public.

Eat the rich. Steal corporate and buy private, pirate your movies, support non-profit news, tear the logos off of your clothes.

These people are the real threats to America:

Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Mark Zuckerberg, JP Morgan chief executive Jamie Dimon, Oracle cofounder Larry Ellison, former Google CEO Larry Page, former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, Google cofounder Sergey Brin and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.

Harris / Walz don’t want my opinion. Democracy inaction.

I don’t know if I will carry through with my threat, but I find it funny they automatically filter this opinion from their contact form. Maybe they don’t want to officially count the number of folks with this opinion. Spam they say, even though I provided my home address and a well worded message.

I have no illusions. I know what is at stake in this election. However, I don’t enthusiastically support the Dems even though I will vote for Harris.

It blows my mind that half the voting population is ready to vote for fully realized fascism, but it is really not that surprising. Compared to international politics the U.S. really does not have a liberal party. The Dems have been sliding right for decades. Outside of a few (important) social issues and the fights from a small minority of senators, the Dems have been pushing us further and further towards a militarized corporate monarchy, so from the point of view of average (uninformed) workers, it is not too surprising there is such a fine line. But the GOP have recently jumped the shark, probably to push the whole thing even further right. I was just hoping to register a little fire under the Dems butts, but they don’t seem to want any.

Israel Arms Embargo Now or You Lose My Vote

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the ongoing situation in Israel and Palestine. It has become increasingly clear that the current approach to U.S. foreign policy, particularly the provision of arms and military support to Israel, is contributing to a cycle of violence and instability in the region. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has issued rulings that highlight violations of international law, and it is imperative that the U.S. government respects these decisions.

I strongly urge you to push for an immediate arms embargo against Israel until these violations of international law are addressed, and a sustainable path to peace is pursued. As your constituent, I expect my elected representatives to uphold human rights and international law in all foreign policy decisions.

Should you choose not to advocate for this embargo and continue to support the provision of arms to Israel, you will lose my vote in the upcoming election. I will support candidates who prioritize peace, justice, and adherence to international rulings.

Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your response and hope to see you take concrete action toward promoting peace and accountability.

Most Americans Want to Stop Arming Israel. Politicians Don’t Care.

The number of Americans opposed to sending arms to Israel has grown, month after month, as the brutal war on Gaza grinds on.

I don’t get out much so I don’t “feel” the word on the street. I’m going from the YouGov CBS News Poll data (and the article that pointed me there). Survey of 2,063 Adults in the U.S., 1,615 registered voters. So take it as you will. Filtered by Dem party affiliation, the number goes from 61% to 77%
Regarding the situation with Israel and Hamas, which of these should the U.S. do or not do now?
Send weapons and supplies to Israel Y=39% N=61%
Send humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza Y=62% N=38%

Corporate-owned media definitely have a bias as to what side they support for financial reasons, I see it all the time, so it is not surprising these results are not known or felt.

I see it in the worst dregs of human society known as the comment section of most news outlets. I guarantee if you and I were to go to a show… Say, something we wouldn’t expect like a Gary Numan show or something… The overwhelming majority of people would have no clue. Of course, that’s just my own assumption.
